Great ram, period8/9/2012 10:01:05 AM

Pros: Despite all the claims of overclocking headroom, I bought these for another reason – their incredibly low profile. I was building up an ITX system, and my name-brand DDR3 sticks had a huge heat spreader that simply would not fit in the case with the drive bay installed (which overhangs the ram). Not a problem with these sticks, which are barely any taller than the ram slots themselves. The fact that they were practically the cheapest option was a bonus.

Cons: None, other than packaging that is very hard to open and will make you feel that you are about the break your new memory sticks.

Overall Review: My ITX board is limited to 1333, so I just set it at 1333, 1.35v, 9-9-9-24, which was one of the profiles provided on the packaging. I wasn’t concerned about pushing the timings.

This is the RAM for those in the know1/30/2013 9:15:50 AM

Pros: I love this RAM. It is one of the best kept secrets in PC building circles right now. Most people shopping for memory will immediately skip past this these because of the CAS 11 timings and lack of heatspreaders. Suckers!

What they don’t realize is that this memory is using the new the new 30 nm manufacturing process. That means they need less power to run and they don’t need heatsinks to stay cool. Samsung has very conservatively listed this memory as DDR3-1600 CAS 11. In reality, it is capable of very impressive clocks. Keep in mind that typical voltage for DDR3 is 1.5 volts and these sticks are rated at 1.35 volts. This gives you a lot of headroom for overclocking this memory.

And lastly, the obvious benefit of these sticks is the height. You will never have a heatsink-memory installation conflict when using this RAM.

Cons: These sticks do not come with any kind of XMP profile. You will need a motherboard with a BIOS that gives you access to memory timings and voltage to get the most out of this RAM.

Overall Review: I’m using these sticks in a Gigabyte GA-H77N-WIFI motherboard. They work perfectly even though they are not listed on Gigabyte’s QVL for this motherboard.

Pros: Small, and stays cool. overclocks without a hitch.

Cons: none

Overall Review: Board didn’t recognize it at first, had to set all bios settings back to auto and then it worked.

“Hidden” Golden RAM.4/4/2012 9:35:04 PM

Pros: There are not a lot of people who know about this RAM, and many of who do look at the specs and says it’s terrible because they see it’s horrid timings for the rated speed.

HOWEVER. This RAM overclocks like none other. It is made on the new 30nm technology and thus overclocks better than the previous gen 40nm RAM chips, and even uses less power.

I easily overclocked mine to 2133MHz @ 9-10-10-27 1T at 1.5v This is on the z68 Sandy Bridge platform.

Cons: It doesn’t look super fancy. No heat spreaders, but they aren’t necessary anyway.

Overall Review: Sandy Bridge CPU’s (this excludes the SB-E variants) cannot handle RAM any higher than 2133MHz. This RAM is known to reach 2400MHz+ on SB-E platforms. The RAM is truly AMAZING for the price. Plus, it’s low profile. You can’t go wrong when purchasing this stuff.

Great RAM!4/16/2012 7:00:15 AM

Pros: Low voltage and heat, low profile.
No bulky heatspreader as they don’t need them.
Superior tweakability. I’ve had 4 sticks of these run @ stock speed, 6-7-7-18-1t @ 1.55v, and had the same sticks run stock timings, 2400MHz @ 1.6v, all stable. Had to play with tRC and tWCL to get 2400MHz stable, but not too much work.

Cons: They’re sold out every time I go to buy more, lol.

Overall Review: Really, for any type of use(run @ stock, overclocking, gaming, etc.) you can’t go wrong with these.
If you’re considering buying higher speed memory thinking they’ll OC higher, save your money and get these.
You won’t be disappointed!

Best all round memory I’ve used2/11/2012 5:28:31 PM

Pros: Bought this on sale when it was $39.99 for a kit – though not at Newegg.

The amount of money you’re going to save on power due to low voltage memory is minimal.

However, if you’re an enthusiast and want tighter timings or faster speeds, this is the memory kit to get.

Computer set-ups:
#1 – i7 2700K @ 5.0GHz with ASUS P8Z68-V Pro 4x4GB 8-9-9-24-1T with 1.5V’s at 1866MHz
#2 – i7 2600K @ 4.8GHz with ASUS P8Z68-V Pro 4x4GB 10-10-10-28-1T with 1.55V’s at 2133MHz

My computers are pretty much near identical systems, stable at Prime95 blend tests. Custom watercooling for my CPU’s and graphics cards.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: You really don’t need high overclock memory speeds on Sandy Bridge systems unless you have high CPU overclocks (memory scaling is mostly beneficial with higher CPU speeds). At any rate, definitely some improvement in benchmarks. I’ve heard some people get 7-7-7-24-1T with 1.5V’s at 1600MHz, and I could see that, or at least 7-8-8-24-1T.

Results will vary from system to system with different overclocks, but the basics in SandyBridge memory is don’t have RAM Voltage over 1.55V’s, and if you’re filling all your memory slots, raise your VCCIO voltage for stability, and your CPU Vcore.

DDR3 2133 9-10-10-28 1T 1.55v1/30/2012 8:12:46 PM

Pros: This is a followup review after 1-2 weeks of testing.
10-10-10-28 1T DDR3 2133 @ 1.5v
9-10-10-28 1T DDR3 2133 @ 1.6v
linX and Prime95 x64 2 hours stable using all available ram on Windows 7 (6.7gb or so…)

Cons: Price went down $1 less than a week after i bought it, LOL.

Shipped from NJ and took longer to get here than from CA.

Overall Review: For screenshots of the above testing google:

This has to be the best budget overclocking ram since the G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 F3-12800CL6D-4GBXH 6-8-6-24 1.5v that does 7-10-8-27 1T DDR3 2133 @ 1.6v stable!
