A preliminary review1/26/2011 12:03:39 PM

Pros: BIG (step) brother of the 147GB HUC103014CSS600 (0B23700).
…better than $$D in a LOT of way$.

Cons: ??? …well, 81 cents/GB(realized) is much better and 600GB(~555GB realized) is getting there but they are still too high and too low, respectively.
…
Idle acoustics: 2.9(Bels). I never hear my C10k300’s over the fans but if I listen closely when they are busy, they do make noise. Lowering the Bels down to 2-sh when active w/b high on my list of goals (and would prbly sell a lot more of them).

Overall Review: Entirely based on my experience with the little brother HUC103014CSS600 (0B23700) that I have been using 24/7 for over a year with absolutely no problems or complaints, I would say, for anyone with the buck$, go for it.

See my review on that N’egg item for a comparison but by specs, this drive is actually just a little faster(3.7ms -v- 3.9ms avg seek) so it would be hard to go wrong.

I used to be a 15k drive kind of guy but the C10k300 have convinced me I do not need it or the heat that comes with that 5k RPM.

Buy some and help make the price go down so the rest of use can afford them, ;).
