Best 16GB sticks at stock voltage you can get currently.1/17/2016 8:19:36 AM

Pros: They just worked, no issues. Set bios to XMP profile and all settings are correct.

Cons: The price dropped a good amount after I ordered them before I even got them. Newegg doesn’t pricematch everything and hassle of return to re-buy is stupid so I just ate it.

Overall Review: These days you want the fastest ram you can afford but one thing people fail to pay much attention to is the voltage. Yes a few faster sticks may exist but they are 1.35v. The higher voltage on the ram is actually not good for the CPU.

I wanted stock ram voltage of 1.2v but also the best latency and speed I could get while doing that for a 16GB stick and these are perfect.
Every other stick had either slower MHz or worse latency at 1.2v.

I’m sure you can probably overclock these more and even run them up to the 1.35v okay like other sticks but I rather not put excess strain on the CPU and components. I am an overclocker but I like to push as far as I can on stock voltages for longevity and heat reduction.

I am running 2x16GB sticks in my itx build for a total of 32GB @ 15-15-15 2666MHz 1.2v and a 6700k running at stock voltage at 4.5GHz (it could go higher but no need).

Pros: It is super easy to overclock at 2667 in the bios of any B350M any over clocking capable motherboard

Cons: it will go to the lowest DDR4 speed at 2133 until you overclock it to 2667 which is the next step up from 2133 but you dont need to change any of the voltage or anything so it is super easy and LITERALLY anyone can do it and it wont cause any issues at all with your system and actually give you like a 5-10 fps boost in some cases

Overall Review: It is alittle pricey but the metal inside of the ram is very rare that is why it is expensive and that’s why all ram is expensive but G.Skill will sure drop the price when they can. They really appreciate their costumers.

Pros: More ideal speeds for Intel . Bought for AMD build and it be low end maybe overock a tad.

Cons: Had to fight with AMD board somewhat to get it to stock speeds. Wanted top run at 2400 oven forcing it to 2667 it ewouldnt go for it at all. XMP settings Garbage .. 2400 sets. 2133 settings. Was on B350 board when attempting this. Will seak 370 olr 400 series

Overall Review: Solid memory.. Intel is ideal. Will half to play with voltages for AMD and speeds. How well you know to play with BIOS is how well this works.. Good luck

Pros: XMP setting working immediately with my MSI H370 Gaming Pro Carbon motherboard. After a number of tests with MemTest86 and Prime95 I am certain the RAM is good. Came with a case sticker…kinda nice since that shows an attention to detail.

Cons: No cons. Price, perhaps, but that is the market not G.Skill

Overall Review: This RAM will work with your Intel CPU and AMD Ryzen CPU. I have cross confirmed in two different systems to be certain.

Pros: Fast memory with low latency. Works in the motherboard. Can’t ask for anything more from memory. Newegg ships quickly!

Overall Review: UPS is a different story. The original estimated delivery date was June 20. Looking at the tracking information, it was on the truck, ready to be delivered on June 19. I kept waiting for the truck to show up (I work from home), but they didn’t, and the next status is “This package is being held for a future delivery date. / Delivery will be rescheduled.” What is that?!?!?!

The package was finally delivered on June 21, which is a day late based on the original estimate. It should have been delivered a day early, because it was on the truck. It could have been delivered “on time” because the UPS facility is no more than about 5 miles from the destination address, but nothing happened to it on June 20 other than being scanned. What are you doing UPS?

The item still rates as a 5, because the memory is good, and these delivery oddities are not the fault of Newegg. I would suggest, however, that Newegg audit UPS on its delivery times and practices.

One stick failed after 7 months5/21/2019 5:18:08 PM

Pros: Worked great for a while

Cons: One stick failed. Windows memory diagnostics detected a failure in one of the sticks. I was experiencing somewhat random issues with Windows and other apps for a while before I narrowed the problem down to a bad memory stick. I tried different motherboard slots. It wasn’t the motherboard. One stick had reported failures and caused random crashes, the other one worked fine even if installed in the same slot.
I’ve never had a bad memory stick in 30 years. Guess I was due. Would still buy G-Skill depending on the support I get from them on this one.
