when bought in a a package deal from Newegg, memory is non-returnable, replacement was difficult

Overall Review: I’d consider buying these if I were looking for memory modules only. Package deal with motherboard was more trouble than it was worth when I received defective product. Had to get an “exception” to the non-refund, non-return policy that package deal apparently had…this was too time consuming for something that wasn’t my fault.

Overall Review: Always buy the largest individual stick you can i.e 2 sticks of 16gb for 32gb instead of 4 sticks of 8 for 32gb leaving to open dimms for expansion. I have room to go up to 64gb if I need to.

Pros: I bought 4 DIMMs and installed them on gigabyte z170-ud5. At first, they did not work, causing constant reboot. After posted 1-star review, manufacturer responded and concluded it defective motherboard. I sent the motherboard back to gigabyte. After repair, 4 DIMMs were correctly recognized by motherboard as dual channel. Great job on G.Skill!

Cons: none.

Overall Review: If you don’t OC the RAM, this is an excellent pair. gigabyte website only lists 8gbx2 as compatible with my ud5. It seems 2 pairs of 8gbx2 work too.

I had to re-review this product since I could not revise my original review.

Pros: Cant believe how inexpensive 32 gigs of ram can be these days….. Nice that it just takes 2 sticks. Leaves room on 4 slot MBs for up to 64 if future needs emerge.

Using this on z170 MB. Timings were set correctly automatically, no BIOS adjustments needed.

DDR4 sips power.

Cons: None, except if you aren’t going to try overclocking, there really isn’t a need for the heat spreaders. DDR4 runs very cool to begin with.

There are faster DDR4 out already, so this is the now the “value” SKU at 2133. However, the faster throughput ram still has about the same latency, so its really hard to tell the difference in real world use.

Overall Review: If you can put around 32 gb of ram in your computer for around a hundred bucks, why wouldn’t you? I probably would have bought any brand at that price, and GSKILL was on sale. I’ve bought GSKILL a bunch, and it has always been reliable.

Even if you think its overkill, imagine using Hyper V to keep a couple of VMs running (maybe a home server, or a linux box for experiments, or a W7 vm for nostalgia sake.) Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

16 GB is for amateurs. Go 32!

Pros: RAM works great and had a great price when I bought it. Able to overclock to 2666mhz stable. Gave decent improvements in benchmarks. Works just fine without the heat spreaders.

Cons: Doesn’t overclock even higher? For me the heat spreaders got in the way of the CPU cooler so I had to remove them. Works fine without though.

Overall Review: Used Noctua NH-D15 cpu cooler and Gigabyte Gaming 1 mATX motherboard inside a Silverstone SG09 case.
